The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is responsible for keeping track of the 1,700,000 men and women of the Commonwealth forces (include Anzac, Canada, India, South Africa) who died in the two world wars. It has constructed 2,500 war cemeteries and plots inscribing the names of the dead on permanent memorials. The website has a searchable database of approximately one million casualties commemorated at military and civil sites in some 150 countries.
